Playable Conditions
It is my job to make this call. I start watching reports on Friday morning for the coming Thursday. My main concern is to be fair to our members and the golf course. History has taught me to make this call at the golf course and not at my house.
All the data I was checking out was telling me May 16 would be playable. After arriving at the course and the super told me there would be no cart restrictions for LGA players on May 16. I knew it was a playable day.
We had 74 players on the course and 66 of those completed 18 holes. We had set up our pairings for 93 golfers. We were missing 19 players. 3 of those 19 arrived at the course and told me they would not play and one of our members sent me a text.
There will be other Thursdays this season when there will be questions about the weather and I hope to make the correct decision.
At this moment May 23 looks playable.
If you are not playing please let me know ASAP
